WEATHERMATIC ANNOUNCES NEW TEAM MEMBERS FROM SIGNATURE

Former Signature Leadership Joins Weathermatic As the Two Companies Join Forces

DALLAS, TEXAS – NOVEMBER 6, 2018 – Weathermatic, a landscape industry leader in smart irrigation technology, has announced the addition of key Signature leadership as an extension of the October 26, 2018 consolidation of Signature Control Systems, a well-known irrigation technology innovator and manufacturer of a full line of irrigation components for residential, commercial, golf, and institutional installations.

The announcement was made by Mike Mason, President & CEO of Weathermatic.

“We are extremely excited about recently joining forces with Signature, and I am now honored to announce the Signature leadership team is formally joining the Weathermatic team in key roles to benefit both Signature and Weathermatic customers. We knew going into the consolidation that the people of Signature, especially the Smith family, and their relationships were essential to the success of the business, so securing their long-term positions is a huge win! Our combined customer base will benefit from their decades of industry knowledge and expertise in efficient water management using Signature products,” said Mason.

Under the newly consolidated structure, Signature founder Brian J. Smith, will serve as Weathermatic Executive Vice President for International Markets. In this role, Smith will be responsible for sales in all markets outside of the United States. He will work closely with Weathermatic Export Manager Said El-Kaissi and all Weathermatic and Signature international representatives and customers.

Smith is an innovative engineer and entrepreneur with a career going back to his native South Africa before emigrating to the United States in 1995 and joining James Hardie Irrigation in California. While Signature’s roots began in 1907 through Thompson Manufacturing Co., Smith is known for introducing advancements in golf course and commercial satellite control while acquiring key brands to create one of the most comprehensive product lines in the industry.

In addition to Brian J. Smith, Weathermatic announced Justin K. Smith is joining Weathermatic as Regional Sales Manager for key markets in the Western United States. Having grown up in the industry his entire life, he most recently served in the regional sales role with Signature for 8 years and has extensive relationships throughout the West. Other Weathermatic staff additions will serve in production and logistics roles as well as field and technical support.

“We are honored to welcome Brian and Justin Smith and the entire Signature family of employees and customers to the Weathermatic family. The alignment of culture and values is tailor made, and this newly combined team and product offering will propel rapid growth in all three phases of the industry: design, installation, and maintenance,” said Mason.

“We view their transition to Weathermatic team members as a new beginning and continuation of the legacy of Signature and the pioneering brands it represents”, he said.

Brian J. Smith, new Weathermatic EVP, International Markets commented, “In working with Weathermatic through the consolidation of Signature, I discovered that I could be part of the team to take the combined organization to new levels. In my new role, I will have the opportunity to work with long-time friends and customers while also growing rapidly with new relationships in new international markets!”
