The Weathermatic Board of Directors elected Malcolm S. Morris as its Chairman of the Board, on Monday. He is also Vice Chairman of Stewart Information Services Corporation (STC-NYSE).
Mr. Morris is a member of the American Bar Association, member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association, and is a Fellow of both the American and Houston Bar Foundations. He is Past President of the American Land Title Association and Past President of the Texas Land Title Association and a Visionary of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
In addition to his executive, legal, and board experience, Morris is a leading advocate for clean water and sanitation for the world. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Millennium Water Alliance, a collaboration of a number of U.S. and global charitable organizations devoted to providing clean water in developing countries. Morris is Chairman Emeritus and a co-founder of Living Water International which drills wells and provides hygiene education in twenty-four countries, serving over 16 million people. Weathermatic has been supporting Living Water International since the introduction of their Save Water | Give Life campaign, in 2012. The campaign dedicates a portion of the company’s profits from sales of smart irrigation technology and services to drilling clean water wells in developing countries.
Mike Mason continues his service on the Board and as Weathermatic’s President and CEO. “Starting with integrity, Mr. Morris brings an unquestionable level of character that will serve all the interests of Weathermatic fairly and honorably.” Mason noted. “We will rely on Mr. Morris’s unparalleled experience to continue the expansion of our presence in the market while also continuing the company’s charitable focus on water for the poor.”
Malcolm Morris shared, “With less than 1% of the earth’s fresh water available for human consumption, the management of water, especially in urban areas, must accelerate to reduce water use to more sustainable levels. Weathermatic has developed the equipment, software, and managed services to reduce landscape water consumption on commercial and residential properties by 50% with a financial payback in typically less than three years. My combined passions in water, real estate, and managed services will be dedicated to applying best practices developed by Weathermatic to serve its customers globally.”
